When working on projects for the Cultural Emergency Response programme, I try to always keep in mind what Queen Mathilde Cultural Laureate Kanak Mani Dixit once said about the rehabilitation of the cultural heritage of Nepal after the earthquake of 2015: it is not only about rebuilding of the brick, mortar and wood; it is about living heritage.
